There are a two ways to set up your bridal store’s email settings in Poppy’s Messaging Settings.

  1. Using Poppy’s default no-reply@poppy-bridal.com email address
  2. Using an email alias from your store
    • Note: if you want your bridal customers to be able to reply, you will need to use an email alias that is attached to an inbox outside of Poppy.

Choosing Your Email Setting

  • Navigate to Store Management from the Main Menu  in the top left corner.
  • Choose Messaging Settings on the left hand navigation.
  • Click the ‘Email Method‘ tab.
  • Select the radio button for which email settings option you’d like to use.
    • Use Poppy Default Email Settings
      • Click, Save
    • Use Alias Email Setting
      • Click, +Configure New Alias button
        • Decide if you want to add an email or verify a domain.
          • Note: verifying your domain will ensure your emails don’t go to spam.

Configuring a New Alias

  • Select the radio button for the type of email alias you’d like to use:
    • Domain Verification = A new domain
    • Add Email = This email address has no domain verification

Domain verification

  • Select the radio button next to ‘Domain Verification
  • Next, enter in your domain name
  • Click, ‘Add Domain
  • Next, copy and paste the DKIM and Return path from Poppy into your website/domain host. Where this is located specifically is dependent on where you host your website. Many website builders will have a support article available to guide you to where this lives.
  • Once pasted into your website, click ‘Verify Domain
  • If the domain name still says ‘waiting‘, click the action dots to the right of the domain name and select ‘reverify domain‘.

Adding an email address associated with the verified domain

  • Select the radio button next to ‘Email Associated With Domain Listed Above
  • Enter your email address with the same domain name
  • Click ‘Verify Email

The email address you link to Poppy with your domain can receive reply emails from your bridal customers. However, you will only see these replies within that inbox, not in Poppy’s Messaging Center

Adding a verified email with no domain verification

  • Select the radio button next to ‘Add Email
  • Enter your email address you wish to use — this email address does not have to be associated with your domain.
    • If the email address is not associated to your verified domain, your messages are more likely to sent to the customer’s Spam folder.
  • Click ‘Verify Email
  • Next, check your inbox for a verification email from PostMark.
  • Click, ‘Confirm Sender Signature‘ button in the email.
  • Next, navigate back to the Messaging Center > Settings tab
